Overview
Fat grafting is generally approached not as a procedure that simply fills volume, but as a way to restore natural fullness in selected areas by considering the degree of hollowing, side-to-side balance, skin condition, and the desired look together. In general, the process involves harvesting fat, refining it, and reinjecting it carefully into the target area in multiple layers, and adding more volume does not automatically lead to a better result. In Korean fat grafting clinics, it is often considered for facial volume restoration in areas such as the forehead, cheeks, nasolabial region, chin line, or in selected body areas, but the same amount or technique is not applied to everyone. The amount of harvestable fat, the characteristics of the graft area, skin elasticity, expected retention, and the desired image can all affect the treatment scope and volume plan, and placing too much can actually lead to a heavy or unnatural impression. That is why the real goal is not simply volume increase, but designing which areas need support and to what degree so that the overall contour and impression look softer and more harmonious.
